Visconti Titanic Limited Edition

Looking today at a pen you may or may not have heard of.

It’s a limited edition that was commissioned by the National Museum in Northern Ireland, who have an outstanding Titanic Exhibition. Obviously as the Titanic was made in Belfast and is a very important part of Northern Irelands history.

You may remember that a few years ago Visconti made a pen commemorating the Titanic, but this is completely new one.

As the old saying goes…don’t just a pen by its box…

In this case though you probably can because the pen and box are exquisite in equal parts. The edition is limited to 100 pieces.

Now being a limited edition you get much more than just a pen, with it comes the very impressive Visconti ink well, with a plaque stating ‘R.M.S Titanic – April 10th -15th 1912.

So, now onto the pen.
The detail work on this pen is superb, the cap is garnished with a beautiful clip at the top of which is a silhouette of the Titanic its self, at the bottom is a pearl, which represents the ice berg.

The body of the pen is a deep blue colour, but all the way through the resin, there are glimmers and imprints of colour, possibly reflecting the deep blue sea. It does indeed have the look of a deep water where colours and shapes appear and disappear with ease, a very sophisticated resin.

Detailing on the end of the cap is excellent with the words ‘RMS Titanic 100’ imprinted, representing the 100th anniversary. It doesn’t stop there though, on the top of the cap is the same logo as on the Ink Well, glorious. On the bottom of the pen it details the catalogue number of the pen (in our case number 008) and the number 100 (the total number of pieces).

All in all, a pretty outstanding pen.
