Does the Visconti Diamond Jubilee Pen get the Royal Approval?...

As the Queens Diamond Jubliee celebrations draw to a close, we’d thought we’d give you some more insight onto the Limited Edition pens that Visconti have created for the occasion.

The Visconti Diamond Jubilee Fountain Pens come in a limited edition number of 600 pieces. We have rather stealthily acquired number 52 in each colour, the Queen’s coronation year, not a bad number to have.

Each pen comes in a beautiful presentation box, complete with a plaque affixed to the lid – with the royal seal. The two colours come with the aptly names titles of Royal Purple and Imperial Ruby.

Regaling the resin body of the Ruby are flecks of gold, whilst the purple houses flecks of silver, and surmounted with a crown in the corresponding colour. Around the band are the words ‘The Queens Diamond Jubilee’, and great deal of detail adorning the entirety of the pen.

One notable feature is the choice of clip, which for Visconti is unusual, it uses a spring pull back mechanism to attached a detach (not that you’re likely to be carrying this pen around with you).
Should you ever get tired of just admiring this pen and decide to use it, the filling mechanism is one of Visconti’s usual piston fillers – whereby you screw and un-screw the bottom of the body to initiate the piston filling mechanism.

This beautiful Fountain Pen is offered with the Visconti exclusive unique most precious nib: the famous 23Kt Palladium dream touch nib, which as the name suggests is a ‘dream’ to use also.
