Three beautiful Visconti

Here are three beautiful Visconti pens to consider for that extra special gift. Whatever you have to spend Visconti have a splendid range of writing instruments to choose from.

Looking to buy something special for your loved one this year? A great Christmas present that would last a life time is a Visconti pen. But why Visconti pens? Visconti are luxury stylish pens that are known across the globe. One look at their pen collection and you will understand how they have gained their reputation. Do not be put off though as the Visconti pen collection will have something that should fall into your present budget. To give you an idea of what you can get for you money here we look at three different pens in the Visconti collection that are in different price brackets.

A good entry level pen to the Visconti pen collection is the Visconti Rembrandt. These writing instruments retail a little under a hundred pounds and you will be surprised at how elegant and beautiful they are. These Visconti pens proudly display their manufacturers name on the gracefully arching clip and are fabricated from resin with platinum plate trim. The Rembrandt is quite unique as the cap for each pen magnetically attaches itself to the main barrel. But what really is the crowning glory of these pens are the colours that they are available in. The Rembrandt is available in fountain pen, roller ball and ball point.

A mid priced pen in the Visconti pen collection is the Homo Sapiens, which is also incidentally quite a new range. If your gift recipient likes something quirky and unusual then these Visconti pens should provide a solution.  Each of these writing instruments follows the same look of black lava and neoprene and has bronze detailing. Yes, we said lava! Visconti has chosen to use lava from Mount Etna and blended it with a modern substance. Each of the two materials provides the writing instruments with a clean dry feel. Each writing instrument is well balanced and writes beautifully. Stylish but not too costly, you can expect to pick up a ballpoint pen from just under two hundred pounds, and a fountain pen in this Visconti pens range for just a little over three hundred pounds.

Want to spend some more money and get something incredibly beautiful? Well let us introduce something incredibly beautiful from the Visconti pens collection, the Visconti Wall Street Limited Edition. The Visconti Wall Street Limited Edition Fountain Pen, inspired by the corporate and fast moving financial world of Wall Street, Visconti have crafted a pen that recalls the New York skyline at night. Taking alternate sheets of clear and coloured cellulose, this beautiful pen has been created. The price? Well you are looking a little less than seven hundred pounds, but you will have to move quick because once this collection has sold out that is it. Take time to see these pens up close in all their beauty at the Write Here website. You can find them at writeherekitenow.co.uk

Midlands Pen Show 2013

Having never been to a pen show before, I wasn't entirely sure what to expect from the Midlands Show in Lichfield.

It was a good experience to get to talk to a massive variety of people about their pens, what pens they had on there wishlist and everything in between. It was very interesting to see the enthusiasm that exists within the pen world, from both the dealers and the visitors. As you can see from the photos, there was a brilliant turnout.

This neatly slots into Write Here's own Pen Evening which is coming up on Friday - click here to find out more...

Sailor Chiku Rin

The bamboo penetrates the earth and grows upright into the sky with great force and flexibility. The bamboo gives us the feeling of great dignity and beauty. The thoughts of the tall bamboo groves swaying gracefully in the wind take us to another place of peace and tranquility.
The Asian bamboo culture has been strong since ancient times and it has profound cultural significance especially in Japan where bamboo is the source of beauty, strength, morality and dignity. Many traditional Japanese Waka (songs) and Haiku (poems) are dedicated to this extraordinary plant.

The Sailor ‘King of Pens’ model is a perfect choice for Mr. Wataru Kurotobe (the Kyou Urushi artist) to craft his “CHIKU-RIN" masterpiece. Using the traditional special Urushi lacquer techniques of “Mijimgai-togi” & ”Kanshitsuko-toji” combined with “Aogai” - the distinctive colours of Urushi lacquer come together to create the  “CHIKU-RIN” to portray the peace and tranquility within the bamboo groves.

A perfect accompaniment to the Chiku Rin Pilot Iroshizuku Ink -

Conway Stewart Gatsby Coming Soon!

Image of Conway Stewart Gatsby Limited Edition

Conway Stewart's goal with this design was to bring back the sense of style and bustling energy that epitomized the Art Deco era. Beginning with a time honoured flat top shape drawn from vintage pens of the golden age of fountain pens, they carefully crafted a shape and size that would balance in the widest range of hand sizes. Using an intricate interlocking design forming lines, rectangles, and squares on both the cap and barrel, the Gatsby is a classic embodiment of the bold new style that first came to life during the 1920s. The choice of Hallmarked solid sterling silver for cap and barrel, polished to a gleaming lustre serves as a counterpart for the deep red and yellow colours chosen for the hand applied enamel work. The result is bold, stylish, and sure to draw comment whenever it is used!
