We're Blasting off with Fisher Space Pens!

If you've not heard of Fisher Space Pens, you must have been living under a rock!, or in space perhaps…and unable to write because you didn't know about the fisher space pen...

Famous for being the ballpoint pen that will write pretty much anywhere, whether its upside down, or the slightly more extreme underwater scenario. Either way, you can be sure that your trusty Fisher Space Pen won't let you down.

It was back in the 1953 where it all began and Fisher Space Pens had the nifty idea of creating a universal refill, as at the time there were loads of different ballpoint pen models, which rather annoyingly almost every one took a different ink cartridge!

It made perfect sense as practically, it was much easier for the public, and it meant that stationery shop owners could reduce their stock of ballpoint pen refills. Fisher Space had created a top seller!

They didn't stop there however! The clever fellows at Fisher Space Pens started work on their next generation of ink refill. Throwing the need for gravity out the window they came up with the refill using a cartridge pressurised with nitrogen. Thixotropic Ink was then used - Which amazingly stays semisolid until the shearing action of the rolling ball liquefied it and made it flow.

This new invention from Fisher Space came in very handy it was the dawn of the Space Race. Up until this time the astronauts involved in the Mercury and Gemini missions had been using pencils, as your everyday ballpoint pen didn't work up in space. It was time for the Fisher Space Bullet Pen to shine!

See how the these pens are actually made in this video...

Fisher Space Pens can do all this!
- Write in Zero Gravity, oviously not something that you're likely to need it for, but its good to be prepared!

- Will write at -30 Degrees to 140 Degrees - Its true, most of us won't acutally need to use our Space Pen at the extremeties of these temperatures (although people have been spotted using them on research missions at the poles), but its nice to know that on a cold winters day or if you happen to be sunning yourself on a beach somewhere, your Fisher Space Pen will do the job!

- Write under water - For all the divers or sea dogs out there, water will not affect this little beauty!

- Write upside down - Useful when laying down on your back making notes, or perhaps a game of Suduko?

- Write on most sufaces - Great for measuring up when your on a DIY mission, or when you don't have a piece of paper to hand and anything will do! Just don't let your over enthusiastic toddler get hold of it...

- Fisher Space Pens feature a Ultra-hard tungsten carbide ball with thixotropic ink

- Write 3 times longer than any ordinary ballpoint pen - Great features and durability - value for money "pen"-sonified!

It began with the Bullet Pen, but Fisher Space Pens now have massive range of superb looking pens, of course all using the universal refill!
